The Property is available through the Heslington Almshouse Charity, specifically for those currently in need, hardship or distress. All applications will be considered by the Trustees, with the property being offered to the most appropriate applicant. No decision will be made until after the Trustees have held a meeting to discuss the applications.
Please note, as the Property is an Almshouse, occupation will be permitted by a Letter of Appointment with no fixed term rather than an Assured Shorthold Tenancy. Any individual appointed will be a beneficiary of the Charity and not a tenant. There is a weekly maintenance contribution (not a rent) payable, of £125/week (£542pcm). Please note, we reserve the right to increase this weekly maintenance contribution in line with RPI.
No pets allowed due to the nature of the property.

An oven has been gifted by a previous beneficiary, please note that this is not the responsibility of the Charity.
The Property benefits from gas central heating, mains water and mains electricity supply.
The application process will be as follows:
• Viewings will be by appointment only on Tuesday 29th April 2025.
• Application forms to be submitted to the clerk of the Charity (Beatrix Nicholson, Carter Jonas) by 1 pm Friday 2nd May 2025.
• All applications will be considered by the Trustees at a meeting following the viewing day.
• Occupation of the Property will be offered to the most appropriate applicant in accordance with the Heslington Almshouse Charity scheme for those in need, hardship or distress.
There may be some fees payable by the tenant depending on the type of tenancy.
