North Devon and Torridge Council - Call for sites 2025
North Devon Council and Torridge District Council have officially launched a new ‘Call for Sites’ as part of their ‘People and Place’ project. This provides an opportunity to inform the councils about land within the two districts which could be suitable for housing, economic development, renewable energy schemes, nature/biodiversity and/or community uses. The Councils will assess the suitability of submitted sites for a range of potential uses, as part of the new Local Plan.
Submissions can be made up of parcels of land of various sizes. Of particular interest are smaller sites (e.g. less than 1 hectare) which can play an important role in supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises. The councils are also keen for sites to come forward on previously developed ‘brownfield’ land where there is an opportunity for redevelopment and to regenerate derelict and disused land.
The call for sites period runs to 2 January 2026, inviting landowners and developers to submit land for potential use in housing, employment, renewable energy, and community infrastructure.
